Character items given as Artwork Gifts are given as sets of female and male items. (If the reward item is unisex, it will only be a single item.)
The sequence shown when claiming the reward will show the item for your currently selected gender, but you will receive both items.
You can change your gender by going to "Artwork Creation" or "Character Creation".
